Singer-songwriter Cara Bateman’s voice is a powerful rock-gospel fusion. Her songs are gritty, soulful, and infectious, and her raspy vocals hugely captivating. Though she stands small, her voice is bold and intoxicating – often towering over her tiny stature.

Over the years, Cara has worked hard at honing her craft and developing a distinct sound. In 2016, she released her debut EP, “First Songs,” a three-song country/blues recording. Following this release, Cara craved a change of scenery and a change of pace. To shake things up, she traveled Europe extensively and eventually relocated from her longtime home of Victoria to a new one in Vancouver, BC.

In September of 2017, Cara completed a successful Western Canadian Tour alongside fellow musician Abraham. Most recently, she toured as the opening act for Dashboard Confessional and The Elwins for the BC leg of their tour. This year of travels, shows, and life experiences has inspired new sounds and many new songs.

Cara is highly influenced by her environment and a vast range of musical genres.  When songwriting, she sources from an eclectic mix of blues, country, hip hop, grunge, rock & roll, soul, and more. 2017 saw much experimentation with these genres, and her latest songs demonstrate considerable growth as an artist. In 2018, she hopes to track her newest tunes and release an updated body of work that reflects her current personal and artistic standing.
